This sandwich is so simple it hardly deserves a recipe but it’s one of our favourites on a Saturday morning. We’ve also tested it out while camping with the family and it was a hit with veggies and meat-eaters alike.
Dry frying or BBQ-ing the tofu makes it firmer which suits the sandwich. Of course you can use any fillings you like to accompany the tofu!
Ingredients
- 1/2 a block of Taifun smoked tofu
- 2 (or more!) slices of bread, gluten free if necessary
- Something to moisten the bread (butter, margerine, hummus, mashed avocado etc.)
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Anything else you fancy!

Method
Slice the tofu and dry fry or BBQ until firm and dry.
Assemble your sandwich. Done!

This recipe is largely low FODMAP but make sure you limit things like avocado (1/4 of an avocado is low FODMAP) and use gluten free bread.
