Many of us know that stress is a huge trigger of flares of chronic illnesses, and as such most of us try to limit the stress in our lives. But there’s no denying that with a second wave and new lockdown, stress levels have risen, just in time for November which is Stress Awareness Month.

Recognising all of that, we’ve put together some resources for managing stress. If you have any resources you find particularly useful, do drop us a line so we can add them to this blog.

Samaritans

The Samaritans website have some great resources, including learning sessions and activities.

Mind Tools

Mind Tools has a great page that looks at understanding stress, triggers and management techniques. The resources are broken down into sections that you can read all at once or take at your own pace.

Very Well

Very Well has a great page on effective stress relievers. They include short-term strategies, fast-acting strategies, long-term strategies and problem-focused strategies.

NHS Mind Plan

Amongst their resources, the NHS has a short (5 quick questions) survey that you fill in to get your free plan with “tips to help you deal with stress and anxiety, improve your sleep, boost your mood and feel more in control”.

Mind

Mind has a great stress resource which covers what stress is, what causes it and how it can affect you. It also goes over ways you can help yourself and how to get support if you need it.

Stress Management Association

ISMA have created a series of PDFs including identifying stress and management tools.
